Mandate The purpose of the Office of Communications is to coordinate communications programs and services that promote and enhance the university’s image and reputation internally and externally. Communications is responsible for coordinating internal and external communications, management of the visual identity and logo policies, responding to media inquiries, approves content for the university website, production of university publications and advertising. The three divisions of Communications are: · Public Relations · Media Relations · Internal Relations Public Relations · Prepares and implement university communications plans · Approves and coordinates university promotional literature · Reviews and approves content for the university web site · Ensures proper usage of the university logo and image · Produces the university newsletter and Annual Report · Coordinates and approves advertisements Media Relations · Is the first point of contact for all media inquiries to the university · Arranges press conferences · Provides communications advice, consultation and services · Arranges university spokespeople for events, issues or inquiries · Maintains the news clippings collection for senior management · Prepares and distributes press releases and statements to the media · Prepares communications of key policies, events or incidents of the university Internal Relations · Provides updates on university events on campus · Maintains the website · Posts events on the internal staff intranet system |
