How to Apply to ILP

 
 

Deadlines

We are now taking applications until the program is filled. (or September 10, 2007 if space exists after classes begin) Students are encouraged to apply as soon as possible, several seats have already been filled.

Current students can apply to ILP immediately.

New students can apply to ILP immediately however acceptance is conditional upon successful admission to university. Check university admission deadlines. Deadlines vary depending on whether or not you have been a student in the past. 

Application process for new students

  1. Check university admissions deadlines for admission to university.  
  2. Apply for admission to the University. Do not wait for your acceptance letter before applying to ILP.  
  3. Apply for admission to ILP. 
  4. Registration into classes is conditional upon successful admission to university.

Application process for current students

  1. Check with your home faculty to ensure you are able to enroll in ILP along with your current program. 
  2. Apply for admission to ILP.

Late applications:

 Late applications to ILP and university admission can be considered if space exists. Contact the office to inquire. 790-5950 ext 3233 email ilp@firstnationsuniversity.ca 

 

ILP application form Instructions

  1. Complete all sections of the application.
  2. Current students must also include a student number.
  3. In a one page cover letter as instructed on the form. 
  4. Include a one page essay as instructed on the form. 
  5. Submit the form on the web site if you are applying online. 
  6. If you are not applying online, print off the form, your cover letter, your essay and and drop them off at the office, mail it in or fax it.   

 

 
YOU MUST INCLUDE THE ESSAY AND COVER LETTER WITH THE FORM. INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

 

Selection Criteria

ILP students will be selected based on:

·         Commitment to leadership development

·         Commitment to life long learning

·         Interest in working in an intercultural context  

Acceptance into ILP

·        You will recieve an email indicating your application has been accepted. (ensure you inlude your email address in your application) 

  • Within a week of submitting your application you should know whether or not you have been accepted. Once you have been accepted we will hold a spot for you in the first course and instruct you as to when you can register for the class.
     
  • The first course (ILP 100) will be offered on Tuesdays from 6:00 pm to 8:45 pm in September 2007.
