A Saulteaux person originally from Fishing Lake First Nation in Saskatchewan, Dr. Jacqueline Ottmann’s career experience includes elementary and secondary teaching experience in public, separate, and private systems, and a principalship, in Saskatchewan and Alberta.  While obtaining her M.Ed. degree in 2002 and her PhD in 2005 from the University of Saskatchewan, Dr. Ottmann continued teaching as a sessional lecturer.  Her graduate research revolved around First Nations leadership and leadership development. Jackie has had the privilege of working as a research assistant on numerous school effectiveness reviews throughout Saskatchewan, presenting on various First Nations topics at conferences in Canada, the United States, Australia and New Zealand. She has also written a chapter in the book, ‘Sharing our Success: Ten Case Studies in Aboriginal Schooling’. Currently, Jackie is conducting research on Indigenous literacy and languages, assessment practices and Aboriginal students, teacher preparation programs and Indigenous students, First Nations’ educational partnerships, and Indigenous leadership programming.

Jo-anne Goodpipe is originally from Standing Buffalo First Nation and is an Assistant Professor of Gaming with the School of Business and Public Administration at the First Nations University of Canada. Jo-anne has a Master of Human Resource Development from the University of Regina. Jo-anne has worked as a project manager, loans assessor, youth program coordinator and researcher in the finance industry, corporate sector and university setting. Jo-anne is the proud mother of a teenage daughter and pre-school son.
