|  | | NHSAP Overview | **Interim President Shauneen Pete and Board Chair Joely BigEagle today announced a restructuring at the First Nations University of Canada, aimed at accomplishing approximately $3 million in savings that will enable the University to address its ongoing structural deficit aligning the college’s expenses to its funding and revenue sources. PROGRAM APPLICATION DEADLINE MARCH 31 OF EACH YEAR Applications will be considered first qualified, first admitted until the quota is filled
The NHSAP is a program designed to help students enter a variety of health programs offered by: First Nations University of Canada, the University of Saskatchewan (U of S), and Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science & Technology (SIAST). The program is designed not only to offer academic support to students, but also to support development in areas such as public speaking, problem solving, conflict management and life skill development. The program also assists with career-pathing and exposes students to various health care occupations. The program assists students who are ineligible for direct admission into other programs due to previous academic performance as well as assists adults who do not have the formal educational background to qualify for university admission. Following completion of the Access Year students will be required to meet the current entrance requirements for each health program.
How and when do I apply for the program? Applicants will be processed from January 1 to March 31. Forward completed application form by March 31 to:
